About the Curator

Stanley T. Crawford, Ed.D. is an independent digital art curator, collector, creator, and educator whose curatorial practice explores the intersection of art, technology, culture, and human experience.

Through Crawford Curates, he discovers and collects digital artists from around the world, develops curated exhibitions, and writes observations that encourage viewers to look beyond the surface of an artwork and consider its emotion, meaning, cultural context, and story. His approach to collecting is grounded in a simple philosophy — Collect with Conviction — seeking works that establish a meaningful connection with the collector rather than following trends alone.

Crawford brings an interdisciplinary perspective to digital art. His academic background includes a B.S. in Industrial Technology, an M.A. in Management, and an Ed.D. in Educational Administration, along with university study in technical drawing and the humanities. He has also completed specialized study in graphic design and blockchain technology.

His perspective is further informed by practical experience as a digital artist and NFT creator, and by years of actively collecting blockchain-based art. Working on both sides of the creator-collector relationship gives him an appreciation for artistic intention as well as the decisions collectors make when discovering, acquiring, holding, exhibiting, and stewarding digital works.

Rather than separating digital art from the broader history of visual culture, Crawford approaches it as part of an evolving artistic continuum — one increasingly shaped by technology while remaining rooted in the human impulse to create, communicate, question, and tell stories.
